DAVID G BROADBENT
David Broadbent is one of the World’s foremost speakers on Safety Culture and Safety Leadership and how these things fundamentally affect our workplaces. He is also the creator of the globally recognized Transformational Safety Leadership Survey. In 2008 David was involved in a near fatal cycling accident. This accident resulted in David experiencing a multi-punctured lung, and multiple fractures - they stopped counting at 24 – he should not be alive. They described David’s injuries as though “a hand grenade had exploded on the inside”. He was literally screwed back together. Since David was rebuilt he has continued his journey working with many people and companies in support of improved health and safety performance. In the last three months he has provided strategic safety advice to corporations within Australia, Egypt, Oman, China, India, and also South Africa. David is one of only a handful of safety professionals, in the global safety community, who can speak with experiential authority on the accident causation sequence, risk tolerance, trauma recovery etc.
DR BERT SLAGMOLEN
Dr. Bert Slagmolen is consultant and managing partner at Apollo13. He has been active in the consultancy business since 1979. He focuses mainly on counselling of changes in organisations towards higher performance and reliability.
Bert started his professional career as a researcher and consultant in the field of Industrial Automation and Flexible Production concepts. Step by step he broadened his scope to organisations in the not-for-profit sector and government agencies. Later he focused more on ICT development and Management of Change issues. Since 2002 he is primarily devoted to projects in the field of High Reliability Organizing and Mindful Organizing. He is involved in various international projects in the public and private sector that are focused on Management Development and Cultural change in relation to improving reliable performance.
Bert is also co-founder of the international networks of HRO Professionals that is active in Europe and the USA.

In this world class highly participative workshop, participants will be introduced to the globally recognised transformational Safety Model and experience a journey through the key elements that shall assist you, and your organization to move from compliance to “safety participation”. This program is targeted at providing a level of understanding that shall enable the business to actually transform to the fifth dimension of safety performance. Participants shall also complete the Collective Mindfulness (HRO) Survey. By looking to the “inside” and understanding how workplaces transform, participants shall be introduced to some very simple, yet powerful, tools to transform their own organisations. At the end of this session participants shall have developed their own Transformational Safety Development Plan (TSDP).
