HAZARD IDENTIFICATION AND RISK ASSESSMENT

This 4-day risk management training course will equip participants with the knowledge to identify, assess, control, and monitor health and safety risks in the most effective manner by logically identifying various solutions to overcome challenges in the work environment.

• Principles of risk management, including legal requirements;
• Risk management concepts including the Integrated (layered) risk management processes;
• Terminology and understanding hazards and risks;
• Five (5) operational risk-based assessment techniques and templates
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA);
  • Structured What If Technique (SWIFT);
  • 5-Why analysis;
  • HAZOP Studies;
  • Human Error Analysis (HEA)

• Life cycle of operations and process flow charts;
• Applying RA techniques during the life cycle and in process flow diagrams;
• Identifying, analysing and managing catastrophic risks;
• Baseline risk assessments and Issue-based risk assessment process;
• Purpose and hierarchy of controls;
• Corrective and preventive actions and closing the loop;
• Practical exercise and feedback presentation

This course can be presented at different levels but is fast paced, and designed to fulfill the requirements of SHE Reps, managers and supervisors with an existing understanding of the HIRA process.
