This includes exploring different theories on incident causation, delving into legal and regulatory considerations, and developing your effective communication abilities. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive handbook that encompasses the entire incident investigation process, complete with templates and resources to support you in your workplace.
It will boost your theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to perform the duties of a Lead Investigator for an ICAM, RCAT, LFI, SIAT or any other type of incident investigation.

- Evolution of incident investigation theory
- Definitions and global trends in investigations
- Overview of the different investigation techniques
- Immediate actions following an incident
- Classification and notification of incidents
- Conducting interviews and collecting evidence
- Constructing an Event and Causal Factor Chart
- Establishing the context in which incidents happen
- Understanding human behaviour from different perspectives, including Neuroscience
- Identify and analyse incident causal factors such as individual or team errors: task, environmental or workplace factors; organizational or system failures
- Draft an investigation report with recommendations
- Sharing conclusions and lessons learned
Who should attend
This couse is seen as a more advanced level of Incient Investigation focussing on the main duties of the lead investigator and covering the different incident investigation techniques in more detail.
